Quanser Interactive Labs for MATLAB
Download, install, and launch Quanser Interactive Labs from within MATLAB®
Quanser Interactive Labs (QLabs) is a hardware-inspired, scalable way to bring credible, high-fidelity interactive lab experiences to students in blended, hybrid, or remote laboratory configurations. QLabs delivers a collection of virtual hardware-based laboratory activities that can supplement traditional or online courses. The virtual hardware is based on industry leading Quanser physical systems and offers academically appropriate experiences offline on desktops and laptops on and off campus.
If you have a MathWorks Campus-Wide License, you can gain access to the QLabs Virtual QUBE-Servo 2 DC Motor virtual experiment for free. If you are a member of a QLabs subscription for a course or research project, then you will have access to your institution's experiments once your account is created on the Quanser Academic Portal. For more information, please visit Quanser.
- If you have not done so already, please visit the MathWorks Site License Registration Page, or Quanser Academic Portal before installing, to create your account.
- If Quanser Interactive Labs for MATLAB is already installed, before installing a different version, type
QLabs.remove
and uninstall the current add-on. - Select the desired version and click the
Add
button on the Quanser Interactive Labs for MATLAB page of the Add-On Explorer. - Once the add-on is installed, type
QLabs.setup
in MATLAB to start the installation process. - Once installation completes, type
QLabs.launch
.
The add-on contains several commands to make it easy to download, install, and use Quanser Interactive Labs:

QLabs.register |
Opens the MathWorks Site License registration page. |
QLabs.setup |
Installs Quanser Interactive Labs. Downloads, if needed. |
QLabs.launch |
Launches Quanser Interactive Labs. Downloads and installs, if needed. |
QLabs.remove |
Uninstalls Quanser Interactive Labs and deletes temporary downloaded files. |

- Simulink®
- Windows 10 or later, or macOS Mojave 10.14.6 or later
- Video Card: Intel HD 520 or equivalent DX11 GPU
- Processor: Core i5-6300U series mobile CPU, or equivalent
- Memory: 8 GB RAM
- Video Card: Intel UHD 620 or equivalent GPU
- Processor: Core i7-8665U mobile CPU, or equivalent
- Memory: 16 GB RAM
